How the Pro Taper SELA holeshot button works

Holeshot buttons have been around for years, and over the last decade or so, we've seen a couple of iterations of the simple device, however nothing has quite revolutionised the holeshot device like the Pro Taper Self-Engage Launch Assist (SELA).

The all-new holeshot device is designed to solve a challenge every dirt bike rider has faced - setting a start device by yourself.

Even when you have someone to help, engaging a holeshot button can be awkward and tricky, and it seems like you never get them to engage on the first attempt.

And that's where the SELA comes in - using a self-engaged twist dial, the start device can be set without any help from your mechanic or the rider lining up next to you.

This is not only super handy before you launch off for a moto, but it's also super helpful for practice starts, where you need to constantly engage the device - and the best part is, you can do all by yourself.

The SELA works quite simply - you turn the dial on the holeshot device into position on the fork guard, push down to compress your front forks, and the SELA device will automatically engage and lock the front end into place.

The SELA still offers the performance you expect from a holeshot device - it temporarily pulls the front suspension of the bike to reduce wheelies under acceleration, and it makes rear wheel traction more efficient while allowing the rider to aggressively use the throttle and sit further down the bike.

The offering from Pro Taper is a modular design, allowing it to be installed on majority of full-sized motocross bikes, as a dual-hinge receiver ring ensures a swift and convenient installation, all without taking out the front wheel or fork.
