What's in my Motocross Gear Bag with Dyl
We bet you didn't think of that...
It's time to unveil all the secrets as we dive through Dyl's motocross gear bag checklist! Riding and racing for well over 15 years, Dyl has fine tuned the essentials you need whether you are racing or going for a casual dirt bike ride with your mates.
Have you got what you need?
First things first, a gear bag is essential and makes packing for your next ride easy. Serving its purpose of holding and protecting all your gear in one place to and from the track. Obviously, you will need protection from head to toe so things like a helmet, gearset, boots, knee protection, and goggles are some of the important must haves. Don't forget a pair of socks and gloves, and for some people, an extra set is always handy especially when you are prone to crashing on a mud ride.
Some of the not so obvious essentials:
A goggle bag is perfect for storing different pairs of goggles and all the accessories they have, such as your roll-offs, tear-offs, and spare lenses. A podium-sized towel is perfect for wiping the sweat away between motos. Taking a first aid kit and a set of disposable gloves is always a good idea just in case your ride doesn't go exactly to plan. Carrying a gear bag deodoriser keeps the nasty smells at bay to and from the track. A laundry bag is also handy for when you have finished riding allowing you to throw all your dirty gear in there, that way when you get home from the track it saves sifting through your dirty gear attempting to reach that sweaty pair of socks at the bottom of the gear bag! It's always handy to pack a towel if you would like to have a shower and a can of deodorant so if you stop at the pub on the way home you won't frighten the other patrons.
