Dirt bikes are a wonderful thing. We just can't get enough of them. So much so that we decided to go out and get ourselves a new YZ250F and give it a quick makeover from our huge range of Dirt Bike Parts to have it ready to shoot our 2020 Range Release videos! Check out the results below:

Yamaha YZ250F 2019 Project Bike Makeover

Now trust us when we say, we barely scratched the surface of the full extent of a bike makeover that's possible here at MXstore. We're not ones to complain, but it's been a very busy 2019 so far, so we really focused on just getting this bike into a good looking state for our videos. But here's a quick rundown on exactly what we've done with it, so you guys can check out some of the quick and easy bolt on upgrades we've got available to get your bike looking schmick with very minimal effort!

Dirt Bike Exhaust System

One of the best aftermarket parts when it comes to both performance and appearance, Exhaust Systems are hard to look past when you're upgrading your machine. We teamed up with some friends of ours to get a Pro Circuit Exhaust System on our YZF, and she came up looking a treat! Even better was the sound of the thing #frothing. While they may not come cheap, an aftermarket exhaust system for your bike is without a doubt one of the best upgrades you can give to your pride and joy.

Dirt Bike Plastics

Our first step was removing the OEM plastics from the bike and replacing them with a new Acerbis Plastics Kit. There's plenty of colour options available for most makes of dirt bike models out there, and Acerbis is certainly one of our more popular brands, along with RTECH, Polisport, UFO, and Cycra. We went with a full blue kit to match the blue rims on the YZ250F, and the end result was pretty sweet!

Dirt Bike Graphics Kit

Graphics are absolutely key when it comes to the final appearance of your machine, and we've more than got you covered there. MXstore has partnered up with our friends at NineTwo Decals to offer you completely customisable graphics kits, as you see on our YZ250F here. Easily one of the leaders in custom dirt bike graphics, the legends at NineTwo have been a great addition to our MXstore team here and we couldn't be more excited to be working with them to bring you guys this amazing graphics option. Check them out today!

Dirt Bike Seat Cover

Seat Covers go hand in hand with a fresh plastics and graphics kit, and we wanted to make sure we had the right cover to suit the look of the bike. Our full blue with black ribs Motoseat Seat Cover worked a treat, and really finished off the blue look we were going for (you're welcome Yamaha!). Motoseat have a huge range of colour and design options for most bikes out there, as well as completely custom covers for you guys to design. And if the Motoseat covers are a little out of your price range, you might find what you're looking for with our Ballards Seat Covers

Dirt Bike Handlebars

Handlebars are one of our most common upgrades when giving your bike a makeover. When it comes to setting your bike up to suit your personal preferences, the bend of your handlebars is critical, and often times the stock setup just won't work for you. Our MXstore test pilot Jake Lowe demanded (politely asked) a set of ODI Handlebars for the YZF, and we were in no mood to deny him his wish. We carry a huge range of styles and colour options of handlebars across all different kinds of bends, so have a browse and find a set that's right for you.

Dirt Bike Grips

Just like your handlebars, grips are one of the most essential pieces of equipment on the bike that need to match your preferences. With all different kind of grip patterns, compounds and colours out there, you can rest assured that no matter what your tastes, MXstore will have you covered. Again at our test pilots request, we chucked on a set of ODI grips. We went with lock-on grips (super simple) in a soft compound (got to look after those precious office hands!), and they were definitely a solid choice.

Dirt Bike Clutch Cover

Clutch covers are the ultimate "factory look" upgrade out there. Sure, they offer hugely improved wear resistance and improve heat dissipation on your machine, but let's be honest, we buy these things because they look rad. Our Ballards Clutch Cover is without a doubt one of our favourite upgrades, and there's no doubting the black billet finish looks particularly sweet against the rest of the bike.

Dirt Bike Foot Pegs

Footpegs should not be forgotten about. One of the most critical points of contact between you and the machine, your foot pegs need to be on point to ensure your riding is where it needs to be. We couldn't go past a set of titanium Ballards Foot Pegs for this one, and hot damn they look good! We carry a massive range of all different kinds of footpegs here at MXstore from all your leading brands, so we'll have something for everyone.

As we mentioned earlier, this is one of the most basic makeovers you'll see on a dirt bike, but even with that small number of part changes we chucked on this it still looks like completely different bike! And pretty damn rad if you don't mind us saying so. Be sure to check out our huge range of parts and see what other options we have, including Sprockets, Chains, Tyres, Wheels, Hubs, Brake Discs, Frame Guards, Levers, Spark Plugs, Filters, Fuel Tanks, and so many more!
