DYLAN LONG | MXstore | Shift MX | CDR Yamaha
In the week prior to Round 2 of the Australian Supercross Championship, our head content creator Josh Walsh headed down to Victoria for a shoot with Dylan Long in his home town of Benalla. Longy is often associated with his love for throwing huge whips, therefor his underlying desire to win is generally overlooked. We set out to showcase what he invests on a daily basis, and throughout portray his passion and dedication for the sport as a whole. We hope you enjoy this short piece on CDR Yamaha Factory Rider Dylan Long.
2017 has been a big year for the 22 year old CDR Factory Yamaha mounted rider from Victoria, battling to return from a serious injury and put himself in podium contention week in, week out during the MX Nationals. Undoubtedly one of the most naturally talented riders Australia has ever seen, Dylan has been putting in serious work on and off the bike to get himself back into championship contention. The 2017 Nationals didn't quite work out as Longy had planned, but was a good stepping stone in preparing himself for what is to come in the 2017 Supercross series.
"This year was a building year for me, coming off an injury. I didn't really know where I was at, and when I did come back it wasn't too crash hot," Longy reflected on his 2017 MX campaign, before turning his attention to the upcoming SX series. "I believe I can win the Supercross Championship, the amount of work we've been putting in has been ridiculous. I've proven that I'm fast, so minimising mistakes and just growing up, learning a bit, is gonna get me right to the front."
Judging from our footage, Longy is ready for an all-out assault on the Supercross series, and we can't wait to watch him in action.
