The Trip

Honda Australia invited us to the launch of the new CRF450RL, along with Daryl Beattie, Damo from ADV Life, and Dylan Ruddy from Bikesales.com.au.  We had an epic time exploring aboard three models of CRF450RL bikes with different modifications.  Our trip took us through Queenslands Scenic Rim, down the ranges in New South Wales to Tenterfield, seeing some amazing countryside along the way.

The Bikes

1. Stock

This is a great bike for beginners, it's LAMS-approved, and is basically a starting point that you can build off to make the bike what you want, for the type of riding you want to do.

2. De-Restricted:

For most people the deristricted bike would be the best option, this alone makes a huge difference to the bike's performance.  This bike has a vortex ignition, which brings the bike to life, and adding the longer-range tank will get you about 200km per tank, therefore improving its reliability for adventure riding.

3. De-Restricted With Exhaust:

Putting an FMF Exhaust on the CRF450RL smooths out the power and makes the bike a lot more fun to ride.  This bike also had an upgraded seat which made for a much comfier ride.
