We first introduced the Yamaha MXstore Ballard's Off-Road Team to the enduro racing scene in Australia back in 2018. Following two very successful seasons with everyone's favourite couple, Jess Gardiner and Jeremy Carpentier, 2020 sees our first expansion in the team, as young gun Danielle McDonald joins the bLU cRU ranks to take on the newly introduced Junior Girls class in the 2020 AORC. Get to know the team below and gain some insight into the equipment they'll be using throughout the 2020 season!
Jess Gardiner
Jess was just 20 years old when she became the first Australian woman to win the International Six Day Enduro Women's Class, spearheading the Australian women's team to the first of their six consecutive victories between 2013-2018. In 2019, Jess claimed her 5th Aussie title in the Australian Off-Road Championship Women's class, and while some unfortunate injuries saw the girls lose their ISDE crown, Jess rode well to claim 4th in the Women's class, just missing out on a podium position.
"I can't wait to have a go at keeping it on the top step of the podium again in 2020. I know I'm going to be the hunted one this year. It's always a tougher season after a win the year previous" - Jess Gardiner
We're super excited to have Jess riding on the team once more in 2020 as she plans another assault on the AORC championship, along with a host of international events and of course the 2020 ISDE in Italy. Keep an eye out for the #737 Yamaha up front as she battles to take home her sixth AORC title, and be sure to drop by the pits each round and check out the Yamaha MXstore Ballard's Off-Road setup!
Jeremy Carpentier
Adding the French touch to the team riding a WR450F in the Pro E2 category, Jeremy spent most of his prior career racing throughout Europe in the World, European and French Championships. Jeremy is currently 26 years old, started riding when he was 4 years old and became competitive at 10 years old. Jeremy holds 1x European title and 4x French Titles. Jeremy has represented France 3x at the International Six Day Enduro with some great results.
"The E2 class is going to be a really packed class this year with all the big names in the category. I'm looking forward to fighting to be on the podium again this year and working my way into the top 5 outright" - Jeremy Carpentier
Jeremy has raced in Australia since 2018 for the Yamaha MXstore Ballard’s Offroad Team and has consistently kept himself up on the podium mixing it up with Australia’s best. Jeremy has his motorcycling Australia coaching license and has been doing a great job helping to develop the sport here in Australia and passing on his knowledge!
Danielle McDonald
Danielle is the newly added addition to the Yamaha MXstore Ballard’s Offroad Team of just 12 years old, from Parkes NSW! Danielle will represent the team on a YZ85LW in the fresh Junior girls class this season. Danielle started riding when she was 2 years old and turned to competition racing since 7 years old. Danielle holds some great results throughout her short career both from Motocross, Desert and Enduro racing. Danielle’s main focus this year is to excel in Offroad with the guidance of Jess Gardiner to pass on all her knowledge along the way.
"I'm so excited to be riding my YZ85 this year in the junior girls class of the AORC. I'm loving all my new gear and my new bike, and it's so awesome to be part of this team for the 2020 season" - Danielle McDonald
Danielle has results from winning the Hattah Desert race in the girls class, podium finishes across NSW state titles events and multiple podiums from motocross events. Danielle is super excited for the opportunity to ride for the team and we all can’t wait to see how proud she will make us!
