The Lawrence brothers have charged into 2022 with Hunter coming 2nd in the 250SX West Championship and Jett being crowned the 250SX East Champion! Jett also had great success winning the 2021 Pro Motocross Season and comes into 2022 season ready to defend his title. Which Lawrence brother will win...

Round 1 - Fox Raceway

In Moto 1 Star Racing Yamaha's Justin Cooper pulled the holeshot which left Jett and Hunter chasing. Jett eventually got around Cooper taking over first and not long after, Hunter also made the move on a very fatigued Cooper. The moto finished with Jett in first with a 6.6 second lead over his brother Hunter in second. In Moto 2 Star Racing Yamaha's Nick Romano grabbed the holeshot with Jett chasing in 3rd, the track was slick after the track crew through some water down so Jett was patient with making his passes but eventually got around Romano. Hunter, on the other hand, had a huge moto fighting with Jo Shimoda through the pack and it wasn't until the last lap he made the pass claiming the second spot. Jett has raced 4 times at Fox Raceway and has won all 4 times even though he claims it's not his favourite track. It was a perfect season opener for Team HRC with both their 250 and 450 riders going 1 - 2 in all 4 motos! Yes, that's right a clean sweep for Hunter, Jett, Ken Roczen, and Chase Sexton! Overall: 1st Jett, Hunter 2nd and Jo Shimoda 3rd.

Round 2 - Hangtown

In Moto 1 again Star Racing Yamaha's Justin Cooper pulls the holeshot with Hunter and Jett inside the top 10! The brothers managed to find each other in the top 5 and began to battle with Hunter making the move on Jett, not long after unfortunately Hunter puts it down in a left-hand corner. This left Jett finishing in 3rd and Hunter finishing in 4th, a little different to last week's results. Sadly Jett was suffering from an illness which was apparent when he didn't make his way to the podium for a post-race interview. No surprise in Moto 2 we saw Justin Cooper grab another holeshot with Jett right on his tail, Cooper cracked under fire running off the track which allowed Jett to gain the lead! Hunter didn't stop fighting and a late charge saw him grab 2nd place from Cooper. Overall: 1st Jett, Justin Cooper 2nd, and Hunter 3rd.

Round 3 - Thunder Valley

In Moto 1 another Star Racing Yamaha grabbed the holeshot, this time it was Levi Kitchen. Jett made some quick moves and jumped into 2nd trying to pull in Kitchen however was unsuccessful and finished the moto in 2nd. Older brother Hunter finished just outside the podium in 4th. Hunter grabbed an incredible start in Moto 2 claiming the holeshot over Jett and Cooper and was never seen again leading from start to finish and grabbing his first moto win of the year. Jett battled with Cooper and finished in 2nd. Overall: 1st Jett, Hunter 2nd, and Levi Kitchen 3rd.

Round 4 - High Point

Seth Hammaker grabs the holeshot in Moto 1, Hammaker drops back to second and then Hunter makes an impressive pass around the outside taking over 2nd. Not long after that Mosiman who was in the lead puts the bike down gifting the number one spot to Hunter. Jett worked his way through the pack passing Mosiman and Hammaker late in the moto securing 2nd place. Hammaker grabbed the Moto 2 holeshot with the Lawrence boys hot on his tail! Hammaker would eventually go down leaving 1 and 2 to Hunter and Jett. Jett would later receive pressure from Cooper but would persevere and then begin to battle with Hunter. Hunter and Jett traded places multiple times but saw Jett scrape through with the win only .5 seconds over Hunter. Overall: 1st Jett, Hunter 2nd, and Jo Shimoda 3rd.

Round 5 - Redbud

In Moto 1 it was Hunter with the lead over Jett off the start. With pressure from Jo Shimoda the Lawrence brothers would continue to charge, Jett made the move around Hunter, and not long after Jett would unfortunately have bike issues causing him to DNF. Hunter would go on to battle with Jo and eventually take second after a fast Jo took the win in moto 1. Jett would come out swinging in Moto 2 claiming 1st and doing as much damage control as possible with Hunter finishing in 2nd and taking the championship points lead from Jett. Overall: 1st Jo Shimoda, Hunter 2nd, and Stilez Robertson 3rd. Jett would finish 9th Overall.

Round 6 - Southwick

Hunter Lawrence was buried off the start with Jett grabbing the holeshot, Jett would later go down letting Cooper in front of him. It didn't take long for Jett to reel Cooper back in taking back over the first place! Hunter would unfortunately be taken down by another rider mid moto finishing in sixth and Jett would stamp his victory with a 10 second lead over Jo Shimoda. Moto 2 we saw Jett grab the lead early with Kitchen and Cooper chasing. Jett and Kitchen battled however Jett would hold on to the victory with Hunter finishing 8th. Tough day for Hunter finishing 7th overall on the day. Overall: 1st Jett, Jo Shimoda 2nd, and Justin Cooper 3rd.

Round 7 - Millville

Again in Moto 1, we saw the Lawrence brothers battle with Justin Cooper, Cooper took the early lead but tipped over in a wet corner allowing Jett and Hunter to gap the field. Hunter and Jett would go back and forth for 30 mins and lapped traffic would decide the victory with Jett taking the win by .5 seconds over Hunter. In moto 2 Hunter grabbed the early lead but it wasn't for long sadly due to a red flag causing all of the riders to line back up at the gate. Hunter sadly gets buried off the restart and left us with a battle between Jett and Cooper for the number 1 spot. Jett would take an easy win in the second moto and Hunter would finish in 5th. Overall: 1st Jett, Jo Shimoda 2nd, and Hunter 3rd.

Round 8 - Washougal
