Australian Supercross Championship 2018
The Australian Supercross Championship of 2018 kicked off in September this year at Jimboomba Stadium, and the championship got off to a wild start. MXstore was on hand to get involved in all the action up close, with our film and photography crew out on track for the whole event to capture the madness of SX racing. After moving to a daytime event for 2018, the setting was perfect, and the racing wasn't far off either! Championship favourite and x2 reigning champion Justin Brayton took the win in the 450 open class ahead of teammate Brett Metcalfe and KTM/TLD's Luke Clout, whilst Jay Wilson took out the MX2 win in front of Bradley Taft and Joshua Osby. Dean Ferris, unfortunately, suffered a serious crash in the heats and did not return (good news is that he's already on the road to recovery).
It was a great event to kick off the start to the 2018 Aussie SX Championship, we were pumped to see the wealth of world-class talent on display. It's great to see the continued growth of the racing scene here in Australia after a bit of a slump over the past decade, and we couldn't be more excited to be a part of it. With more and more of the world's best riders putting their hands up to come race Down Under alongside the best Australia has to offer, it's only going to keep getting bigger. Make sure you guys get out and support at any rounds coming near you, we guarantee the events will not let you down. Round 2 will take place at Coolum on the Sunshine Coast on Saturday the 2nd October. Hope to see you all there!
