We set out for an adventure, the first of many! Yes, Ride More Adventures had finally been born, we kicked off in some of Australia’s most rugged and wild terrain inland of Wauchope, along the Great Dividing Range. Long-time locals and explorers of the region Kye and Lesley of Endeavour Motorcycle Tours greeted the riders with a friendly welcome as our group of wheeled legends gathered for tips, tricks, and trails.

Riders rolled in from near and far to meet their fellow adventurers, Tak from Tamworth with a newly purchased but old DR650, Steve and Roger rode from Port Mac on their fresh bikes, a CF Moto 450 and Norden 901. JJ from Nana Glen on his 701, Justin took the backroads to cover the distance from Sydney on his Suzuki 800DE, YouTube Josh on his legendary DRZ400 cruised in from the Goldy, Robbie made it out on his Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and Justin travelled from Sydney with his 790 on dark for a feast of a dinner, the rest of the crew rocked up the next day ready for action!

"I really liked it. The whole event was a blast. It was awesome to practice some basic skills on day one and learn from someone as experienced as Kye. Even though I’ve done a bunch of my own adventures, I feel I got a lot out of that. Day two was even better again, some awesome trails and some awesome views. All with a great bunch of people. Couldn’t have asked for much more really." - Josh JB

As Tak said “You never stop learning” and he’s right, whether it’s balancing your riding position, tuning your cornering technique, or circuit training on a new bike, it all helps in real-world scenarios. We hit the back paddocks of Mount Seaview Resort and completed a range of training sessions with Kye Anderson and the team there to provide feedback and extra demonstrations where necessary to improve everyone’s riding experience. It’s crazy how the repetition of a singular movement improves overall riding performance and transfers to muscle memory when you’re on the open road, it seriously makes everyone’s confidence much higher and results in safer riders out in the wild. On top of great technical tips the Endeavour Motorcycle Tour team provided amazing lunches each day to keep the crew fuelled up, plus we were served with historical information and tall tales of the region at each stop.

Venturing out, the action was thick and fast, from snotty hill climbs to flowing overgrown forestry trails, and scenic open roads within National Park loops, all making up for the ideal adventure terrain. The ride looped through the Werrikimbe National Park and the surrounding Cells State Conservation area, it was prime riding terrain and a must-visit region for anyone keen to explore this great country of ours. Most of the group had at least one layover during the weekend, as they were caught out by the dusty marble surface along the ridge lines or slick mud through the rainforest valleys. Riders were tested and overcame the challenges with success and big dusty grins.

We had just one mechanical failure on the tour, Tak’s thumper DR650, which most of the trip was a song of the hills as he often took place as lead corner man around the bends. Lesley rescued Tak in the support vehicle, take this as a testament to tuning up your beast before any ride and the value these guided tours can be if you’re a solo rider in the middle of nowhere. If you’re looking to get on two wheels more often, there are so many awesome tour guides around Australia, like Endeavour MC Tours who can help you with expert advice and local trail knowledge to maximize your fun and get home safe.

At the end of the weekend everyone made it home safe, full of froth for future journeys, more challenges, and endless two wheeled pursuits! Special thanks to the team at Endeavour Motorcycle Tours, Mount Seaview Resort, Ballards Off-Road, Motorex, Gas Gas, and MXstore for making this event so epic, the weekend was topped off by complimentary goodie bags packed full of sponsor product and big smiles. With Ride More Adventures round one run and done, we’re back washing off the bikes and clearing dust from our eyes, now we want to hear from you, where to next? Adventure bikes or enduro loops? We’re pumped and can’t wait for another adventure!
